ReceiptFile helps you store receipts, organize business expenses, and prepare records for tax reporting or sharing with an accountant.
Your receipt records are stored on your Android device. ReceiptFile does not require an account or provide developer-operated cloud storage.
ReceiptFile processes information that you capture, import, or enter, including:
Receipts may contain personal information printed on them. You control which receipts and details you add.
This information is used to display and organize your records, calculate summaries, and create exports and backups. We do not automatically receive or host your receipt records on our servers.
ReceiptFile requests camera permission when you choose to photograph a receipt. You can decline this permission and use file import or manual entry instead.
When you import a file, the app accesses the file you select through Android’s file picker and saves a copy in its private storage. The original file remains in its existing location.
ReceiptFile does not request access to your contacts or location.
ReceiptFile uses Google ML Kit to recognize receipt text on your device. Google states that ML Kit processes its input and output locally and does not send receipt images or recognized text to Google servers.
Google separately documents collection of SDK diagnostic and usage information. This can include device and app information, installation identifiers, processing performance, feature configuration, and error codes. Google describes using this information to operate, maintain, and improve ML Kit. This is separate from the content of your receipts.
